The department of Literature Hosts Delegation from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill

On Monday May 25 2026, the Department of Literature was honoured to host a delegation from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s (UNC) African Studies Center (ASC), alongside teachers from North Carolina schools, during their learning visit to Kenya held from 24th to 29th May 2026.

The courtesy visit provided a valuable opportunity for interaction and academic exchange between the visitors, lecturers, and students of the Department.

On Monday, 12 May 2026, the President of University of Mayotte paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Literature during the ongoing Master Class in Documentary Storytelling.

The visit highlighted the growing academic collaboration and shared commitment to advancing creative storytelling, research, and cultural exchange through documentary practice. Participants in the master class had the opportunity to engage with the President and discuss the importance of documentary storytelling in preserving narratives and shaping public discourse.
