Staff in the Department researches on and teaches drama from all parts of the world, considering that drama remains the most popular genre of literature due to its versatile manifestations, rendition avenues, and immediacy of experience. Students are exposed to dramatic tradiations from different parts of the world and across different historical epochs.
Courses
The Department has a long history of research in literary prose from across the world. Indeed, the Department is associated with Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Chris Wanjala and Wanjiku Mukabi Kabira, some of the leading prose writers and critics in the world. Students are exposed to prose from Kenya, East Africa, Africa and the rest of the world.
